Recognition of cruel policies welcomed by Australian and Canadian First Nation leaders.

First Nation leaders from Australia and Canada today saluted the apologies that their respective governments have recently given in their parliaments to indigenous peoples for wrong policies of separating and assimilating children.

They were speaking on as part of the ‘Global Indigenous Dialogue’ during the conference entitled ‘Tools for Change’ (25 July – 1 August) which offered skills-building courses in areas such as peace building, conflict prevention, communications, team-building.
